The Magic Bean Stalk and How this Blog came to Be

A Growing Bean Plant

Last year I bought Renee's Garden Bonus Pack: Seeds for a Hummingbird Garden. One of the three different seeds included was this Scarlet Runner Bean, "Magic Beanstalk," pictured above. Not having much of a green thumb sometimes referred to by my family as the killer thumb, I was amazed at these massive bean plants sprouting up so quickly. I, of course, had to take pictures.

The nick name and the sturdiness of these Scarlet Runner Bean plants or "Magic Beanstalks" convinced me that there were truly giants at the top of them, and Jack didn't just tell stories after all.

Between these musings and my love of beans--garbanzos, black, pinto, red kidney, and the many others that are so good for your heart--I simply had to start writing about them in one form or another.

So if bean is in the name, I may eventually discuss it here.
